Action on Hearing Loss

Action on Hearing Loss in partnership with the Northern Trust, run a Free drop-in hearing aid maintenance and tinnitus support session in Gortalowry House every month. The free drop-in support session runs on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 10.00am-12.00 noon. No appointments are necessary.

Trained volunteers, who wear hearing aids themselves, will be on hand to give free, practical advice on cleaning and maintaining NHS hearing aids. They can help to solve any problems you may be having with your hearing aid and offer advice on how to manage your hearing loss with confidence. We also provide a basic hearing check for anyone who is concerned about their hearing.

Angela Stanbridge, Hearing Aid Liaison Officer for Action on Hearing Loss said, “For many people who are given hearing aids for the first time, simple issues like how to use them effectively, comfort, maintenance and batteries can be major barriers to using them. Coming to the support session, will be a great opportunity for you to find out how to use basic functions and carry out simple maintenance so you can hear much more clearly and comfortably.”

We also offer support to individuals who are housebound or in residential care by appointment.
